The Thomy-Walker is much more than just a standing and walking aid for children with movement disorders. What makes the Thomy-Walker so special?
Its unique design allows children to stand and walk on their own feet – without any saddle-like support. This not only promotes a natural feeling for their own posture, but can also help to prevent possible consequential damage such as contractures or hip misalignments. There are no physical limitations for users, as the Thomy-Walker can be used from a height of 70 cm up to 180 cm and 80 kg.
The best thing?
The easy access from the rear, directly from the wheelchair, makes it so much easier for the child, parents and carers. Because the Thomy-Walker has the spring built into the front of the chassis, the Thomy-Walker can ensure physiological standing and walking, which was previously not possible.
The earlier the Thomy-Walker is used, the greater the benefits for the child. Loading the joints, moving the legs, stimulating blood circulation, improving posture and lowering body tone – these are just some of the benefits offered by the Thomy-Walker. It enables the development of a reciprocal and physiological movement pattern.
